FAQ’s

Can Tek Screws be used in Vinyl Fencing?

Teks have not been tested in Vinyl.

Are Teks Screws Salt Water resistant?

No. Salt water and coastal environments are extremely corrosive to screws. Recommended to use stainless steel screws when near salt water and coastal environments.

The anchor will go through the wood but won't drill into the steel?

The recommended speed is 1200 to 1500 RPM's for Wood to Metal applications. If the screw point burns up, then reduce the speed of the drill.

Can Teks wood screws be used in Cedar?

Yes, but there will be "extracted bleeding".  The cedar will react to the hole and oils from the wood will drip from the hole leaving a black run mark.

Are Teks compatible with Stainless Steel?

Stainless steel will cause rapid corrosion when used with Zinc plated fasteners.

What is Teks Climaseal Coating made of?

Zinc based with Thermalset polyesther metal filled coating (metal in coating is zinc).

Are Teks fasteners approved for use in ACQ lumber?

Teks Roofing and Wood-to-Metal fasteners are recognized for use in ACQ.
